DHI
DHI stands for Direct Hair Implantation, a hair transplant procedure that uses a special pen-shaped tool to extract and implant hair follicles:
Here’s how the procedure works:
- The surgeon shaves the patient’s head and applies local anesthesia.
- Hair follicles are extracted from the back of the head.
- The follicles are loaded into the Choi implanter pen.
- The pen cuts and implants the follicles into the balding areas.
- An antibiotic cream and bandage are applied.
DHI is a more advanced and effective hair transplant option than other methods. It’s faster than other methods because it doesn’t require separate skin grafts and implantation. It’s also the preferred method for women undergoing hair transplants because it doesn’t require shaving the area where the hair follicles are transplanted.
DHI is similar to the follicular unit extraction (FUE) technique, but DHI uses a pen-shaped tool instead of manually implanting each follicle
